Have you ever wondered why in the entire population of the world, the percentage of wealthy and successful people is a minority? Is it destiny, luck, hard work, or something else that’s responsible for this small percentage getting to this position of success?
Most people tend to think luck plays a major factor in attaining success. However, luck is a confluence of perseverance, prospect, perfectly smart choices and preference. Seize those opportunities…
opportunities present themselves to people almost every day. But only a few people are able to recognize them, seize them and convert them to become successful. Only those who persevere to look for prospective opportunities to exploit become lucky.
Is it enough to spot the opportunity and seize it? Does one need to work hard on it? Can you name a single wealthy and/or successful person who hasn’t had to work hard? Even prodigies reach heights of success only through hard work. Take Sachin Tendulkar, for instance. He was at his best only after years of hard work, though he started showing signs of brilliance very early on in life.
One could work very hard though, and still find no success. This perhaps is because they’ve worked hard, but not worked smart. Working smart is about making smart choices. It’s about right decisions, right steps and right planning.
So, one has to work hard, and more importantly, work smart, to “get lucky”!! The two are not mutually exclusive though…
Once you’ve attained some amount of success and made some amount of money, it’s time to look at how you can make your money work for you. One of the biggest differences between the wealthy and the not as wealthy is that the wealthy people earn interest and everyone else pays interest. It is important to realize that money is a tool that can help you to achieve your goals.
Of course, one also needs to have focus and commitment. Without direction and focus, it is difficult to be stable and consistent.
There is also one special ingredient that brings flavour and essence to the journey in search of wealth and success – that is DRIVE. Every individual has at least one strong Inner Drive. And then they have many external drives. The individuals for whom the external drive syncs well with the true inner drive, achieving success becomes a reality. The unfortunate part is that most ordinary folks spend their whole life without realizing their true inner drive.
People often use words like Passion, Obsession, Mania to talk about this drive. For some people this inner drive is to connect with other people, for others it is money. For some it is knowledge, and for others it is relationships. For some it is leadership, and for others it is creation. Those who understand their inner drive and live their life with a yearning to fulfill it, become super successful. You can look at any successful person and you will see a very strong inner drive which led to his success.
It is not so difficult to identify your inner drive. You have to ask yourself without feeling pressure from the society to be politically correct;, what do you really want? What is the one thing that matters to you the most? This usually is the prime reason behind all your actions. The litmus test to know your true inner drive, is to ask yourself what is that one thing, that if you don't get, then getting anything else seems meaningless.
All these things are required for success but are they sufficient? There are so many tips and examples out there on how to be extraordinary, how to excel, how to make your million – the list is endless. Do they help? Oh yes, they do.
But more than reading about these, the impact of seminars heard and experienced live, delivered by seasoned experts definitely can make a greater impact.
